Glo2 vs. HydraFacial

Glo2 vs. HydraFacial, a Heated Debate
If you've been wondering what the difference is between Glo2 and HydraFacial, you are not alone. This is one of my most asked questions. As you can imagine, I don't have a short answer. They're both results driven, medical grade facials, and at first glance they can seem very similar. While they both improve skin health, hydration, and glow; they work in very different ways. Understanding how each treatment functions can help you decide which one is the best fit for your skin.
Glo2
Glo2 is designed to support the skin by working with its natural processes rather than aggressively exfoliating or extracting. The treatment uses the Bohr Effect: a physiological response in which increasing carbon dioxide at the skin's surface signals the body to deliver more oxygen rich blood to the area. Instead of pushing oxygen onto the skin (like other oxygen facials), Glo2 encourages the body to oxygenate the skin from within. Increased oxygen delivery supports circulation, cellular activity, collagen production and overall skin health. The treatment also includes moderate exfoliation, targeted serum infusion, and a lymphatic style massage. The result is skin that feels refreshed, balanced, and calm. Glo2 is especially well suited for sensitive or reactive skin. Also for anyone with compromised or inflamed skin.

HydraFacial
HydraFacial focuses more on deep cleansing and extraction. It uses a patented vortex suction technology to physically remove oils, debris and buildup from the pores while simultaneously infusing the skin with hydrating and corrective serums. This combination of physical and chemical exfoliation and suction is what makes HydraFacial so effective for congestion. For clients who struggle with clogged pores, blackheads, or heavy buildup, HydraFacial excels at creating that ultra clean, smooth feeling with immediately visible results.

How to Choose?
For most people, both treatments are appropriate options, and choosing between them often comes down to personal preference. Some clients prefer the deep clean feeling of HydraFacial, while others love the restorative, calming experience of a Glo2 Facial.
That said, there are two situations where I feel especially passionate about recommending one over the other. If you have noticeably clogged pores or congestion, HydraFaicla is the better choice because the extraction component does a superior job of clearing debris from the pores. This also results in less extractions, which I'm sure we all agree is a positive. On the other hand, if you have delicate or inflamed skin, Glo2 is the better option. It supports the skin barrier and improves skin health without overstimulating it.
If you're not sure which is right for you, my favorite solution is for you to try both. Your skin's response will tell you more than any description ever could, and many clients end up alternating between the two depending on the season, their current skin condition, or their goals. If you're still unsure, schedule a consultation with me and we can determine which treatment will serve your skin best, together!
