Why Everyone Can Benefit from a Chemical Peel.

VI Peel, What is it?

A VI Peel is a medical grade, medium depth chemical peel designed to improve tone, texture, acne and pigmentation in a safe and predictable way. Their peels contain a proprietary blend of active ingredients like trichloroacetic, retinoid and salicylic acids. This is one of my favorite treatments to jumpstart a treatment plan.

A VI Peel works beneath the surface to encourage skin cell turnover, stimulate collagen, and correct specific concerns like acne, sun damage, melasma, and uneven skin tone.

Who Needs a VI Peel?

Short answer: Everyone can benefit from a VI Peel. VI Peels are a great option for: Acne prone skin, hyperpigmentation / melasma, sun damage, uneven tone, fine lines, texture, or just clients who feel plateaued with their skin and need a reset. VI Peels are safe for a wide range of skin tones when chosen and prepped correctly, which is a huge reason to love them.

How Does it Work?

VI Peels use a blend of acids, vitamins, and minerals to create a controlled exfoliation of the skin. Instead of exfoliating the surface, the peel penetrates into the skin to signal renewal. This process speeds up cell turnover, helps unclog pores, breaks up excess pigment, and stimulates collagen production. The visible peeling you see after a VI Peel is your skin shedding damaged, dull layers and making room for healthier skin underneath.

What to Expect.. From Appointment Through Healing.

At your appointment, the visit is quick and typically takes about 20 minutes. After cleansing and prepping the skin, the peel solution is applied in layers. You may feel tingling or warmth which is completely normal. VI Peels are also aromatic so we will always provide you with a fan during the application. Most people think nothing of the application. You will leave your appointment with the peel on your skin and with detailed aftercare instructions and products. Be aware that the peel has an orange hue to it, and will feel a little tacky. Four hours after your appointment, you may wash the peel off. Be sure to use the VI products provided and follow the instructions.

Day 1: Skin may feel tight, warm, or slightly sensitive. Peeling has not started yet.

Days 2 & 3: Peeling typically begins close to day 3, around the mouth and chin. Skin may feel tight and look dry or flaky.

Day 4 & 5: Peeling becomes more noticeable and this when most of the shedding occurs.

Day 6 & 7: Peeling tapers off and fresh skin is revealed. Skin often looks brighter, smoother and more even.

Everyone experiences a peel a little differently. Some will peel lightly and some more dramatically, but results do not depends on how much you do or don't peel.

INJECTOR BOUTIQUE VI PEEL CLIENT BEFORE & AFTER

How To Prep for your VI Peel

Before your peel, avoid retinoids, exfoliants, and active treatments for 5-7 days. Focus on hydration and barrier building. Limit sun exposure and wear SPF consistently. Let me know about any medications or recent treatments.

Post Peel Care

After your peel, use only the gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF provided. Avoid peeling skin, skip workouts, heat and sun exposure for several days. Follow your post peel kit instructions exactly. The is not the time to push your skin, let the peel do the work.

Results and Treatment Planning

Most clients see improvement after one VI Peel, especially in brightness and texture. Deeper concerns like acne, pigment, or melsasma typically respond best to a series of peels. A treatment plan may include 3-4 peels spaced about 4-6 weeks apart, combines with professional treatments and proper home care, an adjusted seasonally as your skin changes. The goal is not just peeling; it is long term skin health and consistency.

Final Thoughts:

VI Peels are powerful, but when done correctly, they are also safe, predictable, and incredibly effective. The key is choosing the right peel, prepping properly, and following through with aftercare and a plan. If you are not sure whether or not VI Peel is right for you, that is exactly what a consultation is. We will talk through your goals, your skin history, and build a plan that makes sense for you.
